Chest X-ray required for OCS NFO package?

It doesn't state it on the OPNAV check off list, but I know the coast guard requires one. Are there any NFO's out there who sent in a package without one? I have to send the package out next Monday or Tuesday at the latest, and I don't know if I can schedule one with a doctor's interpretation in the amount of time I have.

I did not have to submit a chest x-ray. Once they are checking you for flight status it may be a different story (I'm not that far yet), but I don't believe it's required for Final Select.

Note: I am not prior-enlisted so my situation may be different than yours.

I'm applying as an SNA and just took my physical down at NAS Corpus. They took chest X-rays but I'm not positive if it's a requirement for applying to OCS or just a pilot thing... not sure

Chest x-ray results

The reason I was asking was I need to do a follow up chest x-ray, since the first one I did was 'inconclusive'. I don't feel great about submitting a document that says "we're not sure but there might be a problem,"especially if it's not needed at this point. The board may not like that.

I'm freaking out a little bit because they said I have a 'small nodule' near my right lung, that is 'probably a nipple shadow', and that the rest of my chest looks 'perfect, pink, and healthy'.

Because of the short notice it's doubtful I can get a follow-up x-ray done before I go underway. So I'm stuck with this diagnosis.

I don't know what's the better thing to do, to send in the results of the follow up and hold off on sending the original with my package, or to send the original diagnosis anyway. I'm going for NFO btw.

Any help would be appreciated,

-edit- The flight surgeon still cleared me for commissioning. My ship's doctor did too.

How do they know your lungs are pink from an X-ray?
