Can someone share the process of commissioning into thr Medical Service Corps as active duty? Does the application go to a selection board?

I’m familiar with how the Reserves DCO works but wanted to consider Active Duty.

Reach out to an officer recruiter who specializes in medical fields. You can find them on Linkedin.

The PA is 115. Yes, your application goes to a board. If selected, you would attend ODS and owe at least 3 years active duty. Do you meet the eligibility criteria?

Thank you for this. I did reach out to an officer recruiter but somehow unclear about how the active duty DCO works. There is probably more quotas for AC than RC.

Yes I do meet the eligibility criteria. Going Reserves would take some time since boards have set dates to convene, so I am thinking if going AC will result into faster commissioning.

Not sure about it being faster, but if you want active duty, go active duty. You can always drop to SELRES later.

DCO is reserve. Direct appointment is active duty, primarily those who are already fully qualified/certified/licensed/etc.

ISPP is for enlisted.

Lots of missing details on your end. Perhaps start by talking to your CCC and find some officer mentors or two in your command to assist.
