Anyone have any gouge as to why he was relieved. The Marine Corps times makes it sound like it was merely a case of a "mean" yelling at his "poor JO's and SNCO's". I'd heard alot about this guy and besides being a combat leader he was supposed to be one of the better intellects the Corps had.

The times also says that he may be taking the fall for alleged (and to this point unsubstantiated) mistreatment of locals during this last deployment. I don't think anyone has any real gouge as to why he was relieved besides the MEU commander.

The man wasn't relieved just for being a prick. If that got you relieved, the Marine Corps would be chronically short of field grade officers! There's something that the outside world isn't seeing and isn't meant to see. I'm not going to speculate as to what that might be. If it were just his treatment of locals or his treatment of his officers, he would have been relieved while he was in the field. This was a deliberate kick in the butt.
