Private License after IFS?

Was talking with my IFS instructor (which I'll start in June), and he mentioned I would only need about 10 hours after finishing IFS to get my private license.

Obviously this would be on my own dollar and worth absolutely **** from a military standpoint, but it sounds like it would be such a relativly short process to finish that why not do it?

Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience or advice on the matter, thanks.

(Regardless, takes some of the pain out of the stash-time :D )

If you really feel like spending the extra money, go for it. Buts it not really necessary, my stash time after finishing IFS was nil. Once you start primary, you won't really have much time to fly on your own, thats if you even want to with the other flying.

once you get your wings... you can take an equivalency test for $160 and get your Commercial License along with single engine land, multi-engine land (if you go maritime), and instrument airplane/helo. 10 hours of flight training might cost you over $1000... if you REALLY want an PPL before your wings and have that much cash lying around then go for it..
