Commitment After Final Select

So, not that I'm planning on or expecting to do this after being Final Select by the BDCP, but what happens if, for some reason, I can't keep up my grades, or I don't meet one of the requirements for the BDCP after being enlisted in the program?
Am I obligated to enlist in the Navy or something?
I am just curious as to what kind of a commitment the BDCP is.

What about if I don't get through OCS or designator follow-up school?

In the contract that you sign when you enlist for BDCP, it says that if you drop out of the program you are required to serve two years as an enlisted sailor. I have heard before that these two years are as an undesignated seaman, but I'm not 100% on that. Dropping out of the program would include failing to graduate, deciding that it's "not for you," or DORing from OCS. It would not include attriting from, or dropping out of, flight school.

I have read before that they sometimes do not require you to serve out your two years as enlisted for dropping out of the BDCP program for whatever reason, but I wouldn't count on that in your decision making process. ;)

What is 'DOR'?

And what happens if I attrite from Flight School (or some other designator school)? I'd still be commissioned as an Ensign, right, so would the Navy make me do something else?

Drop on Request = quit
As for the Navy's plans for you if you attrite, someone else please answer that for him. On the Marine side, you get to be a adj. or some other MOS as needed by the Corps.

As with everything else, the needs of the Navy will dictate what happens to you. If your year group is overmanned in all communities, they may Involuntary Release you from Active Duty (IRAD) If other communities need people they might have you put in a redesignation package and have you finish out your commitment doing something else.

That sounds like a ridiculous rumor that a Disney movie told you.

Thanks for the info, guys!
