Confused OCS Applicant

Okay, so I think I know what is going on, but I am rather confused about my status right now.

I submitted my package. I applied as an NFO, SWO and Transport Officer. The NFO and SWO both had accepted me, the Transport was still out in jury. However, since NFO was my first choice (didn't bother trying for aviation; don't have a pilot's license or experience; a bit surprised I got NFO), I accepted NFO. The Gentleman I was on the phone with (different than my recruiter) said that the delay would be 2-4 weeks before I hear back from them. In the meanwhile, they would be processing my medical and Criminal records. My criminal is clean; worst offense was a car wreck that was my fault (no suspension of license, no DUI's). MEPS already did a PFT to ensure I don't have the asthma diagnosis I had when I was 12. Besides that, my Medical is pretty standard (besides an appendectomy when I was 13).

They may put me through a medical inspection again, as I understand it. That may take another 2-4 weeks to get through.

What happens next? I know this is a lengthy process, but I've been in the process for a year now, and I want to serve, already. I know the rule "Hurry up and wait," but daymn, yo.

As a side note, I sort-of understand my duties as an NFO, but any further enlightenment would be helpful.

I got news for you...most of the pilot applicants don't have a pilot license or any experience either. And the Navy doesn't expect any - that's why they train you.

So if you want to be a pilot - apply.

But NFO is a great career.

*Snicker* In that case, my recruiter lied to me. Ah well, such is life. Anyway, I am more than content with a NFO career path.

Still, I don't know what's next.

I got selected. I have never set foot on an aircraft except for a 1 hour passenger flight. The most ive ever done is screw around with simulators.:)
