Murtha's public accusations against actions of Marines accused of a "massacre" in Haditha two years ago have been found to be groundless yet now LtCol Chessani faces charges of a coverup thanks to Congressman Murtha. The Thomas More Law Center is defending Chessani against yet another former Marine advocate Mutha's politically motivated anti-war investigations. A Defense Fund is now set up to help with expenses to clear his name.

Congressman Mutha (sic) and....
"Mutha" (sic) is certainly the preferred spelling with me.

"... In 1959, Murtha, then a Captain, took command of the 34th Special Infantry Company, Marine Corps Reserves, in Johnstown PA. He remained in the Reserves after his discharge from active duty until he volunteered for service in the Vietnam War, serving from 1966 to 1967, serving as a batallion staff officer (S-2 Intelligence Section), wherein he received the Bronze Star with Valor device, two Purple Hearts, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He retired from the Marine Reserves as a Colonel in 1990, receiving the Navy Distinguished Service Medal ...."

John Murtha, the former Eagle Scout, self-starter, small businessman, all-around good-guy success story, was the first Vietnam veteran to serve in Congress when chosen in a special election to serve Pennsylvania's 12th District in 1973 ... it all sounds "great" so far ..... :)

My only question is: what the hell happened to him???
