Drill baby drill!
Ugh, according to the doctor that did my eye exam for DODMERB says i have a slight depth perception problem. Hoping to be an aviator (long ways off), it about freaked me out.
So i went to another specialist on my own, and again took the fly test. i can see most of the dots and sometimes the ones at the bottom, its really screwy. He did an overall exam of my eyes and said that everything else was perfect, 20/20 pretty much in both eyes with left eye slightly less than 20/20. He found no other problems in the eyes though, and said it shouldnt affect everyday life.

Is there anyway to help my eyes get rid of this problem?

I have no problems that i notice with depth perception, but again im not sure.
I got my physical back as qualified for USMMA, so i have no idea.

I've heard (and tried using) that if you look at the dots in the same way you look at a Magic Eye test they should pop out a bit better. Also, there is more than one test you can take. When I was entering OCS I failed the donut test but passed the other one. On future flight physicals, it was a matter of "well you got most of them right, can you tell me which one it is on 'D'... no? ok how about 'E'? ... ok good you passed"

I just failed the depth perception today too. I think I might go to a regular eye doc and have 'em checked out. I had never even thought I had that kind of problem... but all the dots looked exactly the same to me...

best way to pass it is to look at the row..........take a blink.......then look again. It should pop out......if not, then maybe there is a problem.......but keep trying it if you can!

Here's a follow up...
I talked to my flight doc today. He says that if you do fail the depth test, do exactly what littledancerus said.... go to a civilian doc and have him check out it. The Navy will allow that. Just make sure the Navy sends you or you have documentation showing the results. I hope that helps.
