Currently Enlisted and Applying for OCS

Good evening gentleman. I am currently applying for OCS for SNA, NFO, and most likely supply. I have most of the application done, I currently hold a TS clearance with eligibility for SCI, and took the ASTB about 3 years ago (scored a 56 and 6/6/7) and have completed the appropriate commissioning physical for the programs I have selected. I have been looking through the 1420.1b instruction for the page by page break down for the application (I was told it was in there somewhere but the person I spoke with also mentioned the checklist) and am a little confused as to where it is. Does anyone have any information on that so I can start grabbing everything I have/need and arranging it appropriately? Any other information people can provide that may be useful in his/her experience would be greatly appreciated as well.

This thread may be helpful. It has the contact info of Joe Moore who is the Fleet processor for OCS. I'm non-prior, so I my recruiter handled all my stuff, but Mr. Moore would likely be able to help you out. Best of luck!

Pull up the 1420.2B instruction. Go to page 204. There is your checklist.

Don't base everything off of that list though, you need to attach your SMART transcripts in your package, and it is not in the checklist for some reason. I would check with Joe Moore just to make sure, but I think the SMART transcripts are placed within your application form after the page with Block 25.

Yes I just completed my package today and routed it up my COC. On block 25 of the 1420.1B I put " SMART TRANSCRIPT ENCLOSED". I used two other packages from selected shipmates as a ref. I hope this is what they want this month! :)

Thank you everyone for the help. It seems like Mr. Moore is a great resource and wasted no time emailing him. I have not received a reply yet but it was towards the end of the working day and I am sure he has received a large number of emails. I think I can find a somewhat recent STA-21 package but it is on the old instruction and a different program. I wish I could find that page by page instruction that I heard about, or maybe a couple people just misinformed me. RDJarvis, I wish you luck and I know exactly how unnerving it can be to wait for the results..... I did it twice until I decided to enlist to beef my package up.

If you emailed him at his navy account you may not get a response yet. Millington was underwater for a bit and their NMCI systems are still down. He has a facebook group set up. You can ask your questions there.

You got a link for that group? I've searched on facebook and cannot find it. I found Joe Moore's profile and I couldn't find the group under his name...

Here is his post.

Introducing OCS FLEET processor Joe Moore

Greetings everyone! Let me introduce myself. My name is Joe Moore and I am the FLEET applicant OCS Processor. Some of you may remember Homer Elam, and I have taken the duty over from him.

I have joined this forum because I want to make the process as easy as possible for any and all FLEET applicants.

Again, I am the FLEET applicant processor. I cannot give any information to you if you are currently applying for OCS and you are not currently serving in the United States Navy.

I cannot give out any personal or private information here. If you have a direct question you can always e-mail or call me. I am here for general questions on how to apply for an OCS program for FLEET applicants.

I am new at this so that means I am not perfect. I will try to answer your questions to the best of my ability OR find that answer for you.

I am open to any and all suggestions.

Just another note....I will not be checking this board as much (mainly because NMCI does not like it). I do check the Navy OCS forum AND I just started a FLEET OCS Help\Discussion Facebook page. To access it you must be on the United States Navy network.

GOOD LUCK!

Sincerely,

Joe Moore

The 25th deadline is the norm when Millington isn't recovering from a disaster. Things might have changed though due to the flood i'd ask Joe Moore on facebook or something.

Joe is a great contact if you're a fleet applicant. If you're a civilian talk to your OR.

mighty, how is your package coming along?
