December 3rd Intel Board Pushed to March 9th?

Hey guys.

I submitted my packet back in September, with everything finalized for the December 3rd boards. My first choice was Intel, alternates as SWO and IW. Today I heard back from my OR that the Intel board made no selections in December and are instead pushing back to March 9th 2015 before making any selections. The implication was that because my first choice was Intel, there will be no consideration on other options until on or after March 9th.

Does anyone have any more information on what's going on? I read earlier that the Navy had already filled all of its SWO slots for this FY, and were filling a year in advance, but hadn't heard anything beyond that. Is there an authoritative commentary on this anywhere, and what the current status of OCS is?

Getting a little bit frustrated with the entire circumstance, which has to date been a lot of hurry up and wait with a lingering 'your entire circumstance changes when they chose' which I've sort of allowed to keep my life in limbo.

Is it even worthwhile to place any stock in the idea of shipping to OCS in the next 6/9/12 months, or is the entire thing buggered up right now?

Thanks in advance.

If it was submitted in Sept it should have already seen the SWO board, they don't wait to send it to choice 2 until after choice 1 has met, they will wait to process a FS for choice 2 until choice 1 has made a decision.

I should clarify. I handed in the last of my paperwork in Sept, finished my MEPS physical, and so forth. I was told the first board would come up in December. If that's incorrect, perhaps it was because the paperwork was short on a deadline? Either that or my (new) recruiter screwed the pooch.

The entire process for me has been a nightmare from start to present. I started making calls to my local recruiter in November of 2013, went two months without a reply (to 20+ phone calls), then reached out to another recruiter in the same state. He worked with me a bit long distance, then I got handed off to the recruiter that replaced the local one around May (brand new to recruiting and just transferred from SWO). It took be a bit thereafter to run down paperwork and get in for the physical, and I know I missed the last Intel board by the skin of my teeth (we had two weeks until paperwork was due when I met with him, he told me it was impossible to get a MEPS in that time, which pushed me back into the December cycle).

I suppose at this point I'm just rather frustrated, especially since I seem to be getting a lot more information here than from him.

I would be frustrated as well.

Depending when all your paperwork was turned in you might have been seen by the SWO board, I would find out when your completed application was submitted to NRC.
