Deferring OCS date procedure

Gentlemen,
here is a little background before I get to my questions: I got approved for SNA the weekend before I got on a plane to Afghanistan with the Marines (where I am currently), and my OCS date has been slotted for early January, or so I've been told. As of this moment, NRDLA is threatening to pull my packet unless the Marine unit I am deployed with sends me home in time. I don't know how much you guys know about combat deployments, but that's not how that shit works. Besides, I'm not going to go home until the rest of my team does. This is putting a lot of unneeded stress onto this deployment, and to be honest I just want it to end. I have told my recruiter that I needed to defer since he told me my date, but I think its falling on deaf ears because my Major and the Chief Recruiter keep CCing higher and higher ranks to try to one up each other to support their side. I just need this to end.
Onto my questions; is there an official form or letter that I need to fill out to defer my OCS date until summer when I get back from my deployment? (I would assume just a simple verbal request should do, but its not). secondly, if there isn't one, should I call the XO of NRDLA and request one directly from the top? In the Marines talking with the XO is usually something you try to avoid, and I'm not sure how this will affect me in the long run, but again, I'm sick of this run around.
Any help you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated.

This ^^^^^ the CR is a career recruiter that probably doesn't now how things really work when a person is deployed, RUFIO's advice is excellent.

I would also include and save all correspondence between yourself/Major and the CR of LA. People can actually be in trouble for this sort of stuff.

Also, on the APSR what date did you put in there, especially if you were going to be on deployment? Unless the recruiter changed it you should have put a date after returning from deployment. Also, you should have provided a hand written statement explaining the reasoning behind it.

the deployment came out of nowhere. I missed the June board because my packet was submitted late, and so when the opportunity came up I was still waiting on the board portion to convene to find out if I was even accepted. from the time they told me I was spun up it was less than a week before I was in Pendleton flying through an expedited work up. when I told my recruiter he said that once we heard back from the board he would be in contact with me about when to schedule my OCS date. turns out things just got real stupid real fast.

I called my XO last night (your today) and told him the situation. he was tracking it slightly, but once he found out everything he gave their XO a call and is handling everything for me so I can focus on the mission. rank wins again. haha. thanks for all of your advice guys
