Designator Question...

Quick question on NFO designators... (Google & AW searches didn't answer this particular question).

I know that 132X is the NFO designator... my question is does the 4th digit change based on which platform you fly and what aircraft/mission quals you have? Or is it just 0 for active or 5 for reserves?

Thanks, Bubba

Quals should be reflected on your ODC (Officer Data Card) online and also in your OSR (Officer Service Record) in Bupers online (https://www.bol.navy.mil)

The only platform-specific AQD "quals" that are going to show up there will be his EA6 ECM AQD when he finishes AVEWS, and if he goes through the Weapons School PTI course. None of the other "mission" aircraft quals (Mission Commander/SEAD Lead/Instructor quals) rate an AQD.

Wow. I would think that at least Mission Commander would be on there. Big ones for us are OOD (u/w), TAO, and EOOW. That is very interesting.

Some communities give an AQD for Level 4 or 5 quals. The E-2 world does, but the S-3 world didn't. The only constant I have seen is the initial qual in type AQD.
