discrepencies in "Arco Military Flight Aptitude Tests" book?

I just finished the practice test from the Arco "Military Flight Aptitude Tests" book and found what appears to be a discrepency. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed it (or something similar). Here's what I found...

During the Spacial Apperception section, I found what appeared to me, to be be exactly identical images. However, the answers in the answer key for each question were different. They were "Diving, flying straight out to see." and "Level, flying straight out to see." I searched for a good 20 minutes between the 2 images trying to find some subtle difference, but I couldn't find one. The horizon, boat, coastline, clouds, everything was exactly the same and in exactly the same position.

Am I missing something, or is this a possible error on Arco's part?

Thanks,
T-man

Yeah, there were definitely some discreps/errorrs in there, but I didn't think it was a total waste. It was the first time I've ever bought a study guide for any kind of test and I thought it was a pretty good refresher for stuff I hadn't seen in 3-4 years.

Also, since you're taking the spacial apperception part, note that the drawings are different in the Arco book and the test. Not much, but just be aware of it so that it doesn't throw you off when you go test. good luck!

I reccommend sticking to the gouge here on AW. As I have said time and time again, IMO, it is all you need to do well on the ASTB.

I did find that same problem in the ARCO book. I was like WTF. I did take the new ASTB today and the arco book moderately prepared me for the test. I am kicking my self for a few questions that I realized I got wrong and I knew the answer. Damn helicopter question and the stupid landing question!!! Well I let you know how I did in 1.5 weeks.

that is ghetto man. Most NRD's print out the results immediately. Sounds like some of em' are slacking and haven't updated to the computer version yet.

I took my test at the Marine recruiters. What computer version? They said they used to grade them in the office until 5 mo ago when they got the new tests. I guess I just have to wait to see how much I sucked. I got a 4/3/3 last time and I didn't know anything about aviation. I have been studying the parts of planes and the arco guide and gouge. My recruiter says I need a 4/6/6 to pass for aviation. How are the tests graded. Is it like a 6 is 60%?

The ARCO book seemed quite a bit different from the actual test. However, it was somewhat helpful in preparing me. It at least gve me an idea of what the test is like. The questions in the ARCO book actually seemed a little more difficult.
