for your 2nd choice, put what you would really like to do if you do not get your 1st choice. Don't worry about trying to game the game.

bch is right. If you will take it as a back up then put it down. Makes no difference to the selection board, pro or con.

Whatever you put down on your app, you had better be ready to do, pending the first choice(s) don't work out. If you turn one of them down (pending you get denied your first or second choice) after they pro rec or select you, you will piss some people off, and have to write a letter explaining yourself. Don't waste the boards' time if you aren't going to follow through with it.
