Downsizing and OCS Boards / Slots

How do you think the ongoing downsizing will affect future OCS boards and future SNA / SNFO slots? Is the Navy downsizing any particular positions (officer vs enlisted)?

I read on other AW posts that there will be a 13% cut on flight hours. I'm not worried about this right now, but I was wondering if they will be reducing SNA /SNFO slots in the future. I am trying to decide whether I should do the upcoming summer session and graduate a year early. But if no OCS boards are held, then it would be pointless. I know noone can predict the future accurately but I am just wondering how things are going and how the outlook is given what is currently going on.

Thanks.

Right now, it's really hard to predict much of anything... a lot depends on how much/when, and how deep the cuts go (sequestration or not??). It's looking kinda iffy to gloomy right now.

If it was me, I'd go ahead and finish my degree over the summer, hoping there are OCS boards next year. If not, you won't have lost anything but some summer fun, and the 'ticket' may help you to gain meaningful employment in the interim.;)

^^^Good advice. If you don't go for it now, you'll always wonder "what if..."

True, I was going to spend my summer doing an internship, but graduating early and going off to OCS sounds way more fun. I seriously can't wait to get into the Navy. Mind if I pm you with a question? Thanks for the help guys.
