Saw this video and just thought I would share.

Plane attempts downwind landing and runs out of runway, ends up in water at the end of the runway. Oh yeah, the engine starts back up too:eek:

 
Now there is some #$%^ you don't see every day....:eek:

I'd love for someone to explain that to me....ok...i can see that maybe the compressor was still spinning.....and then??????
 
Pick your poison:
1) Landing at an airfield that is off limits to jets
1) Landing long on a short, wet runway in a jet
1) Not shutting down all of the engines after crashing into the water and sitting there like an idiot watching the plane as the engine spools back up

In addition to:
Not landing downwind ... not landing on a too-short runway ... not being stupid .... not being Dutch .... :eek:

... You've GOT to remember to shut down the engines. And turn off the continuous ignition. And do the evacuation checklist (which includes engine shutdown). :)

I've seen a couple of guys "forget" to shutdown engines/do the parking checklist because they were in such a big hurry to make their commuting connecting flight .... :) ... no emergency --- they were halfway out of the seat when I asked ... "Are you going to shutdown the engines...?"
 
"Maybe it'll taxi back onto land" ... Priceless, I love the reaction once the plane starts taxiing around the water.

First time I saw this video I got to where they were just watching guys in the boat next to the plane thinking, "what the heck is the other several minutes of video gonna be?"

Then I heard that Click-click-spool sound of the engine firing up and went "Oh no F'ing way..."
