Either my wife is pregnant or I was just hit by a train.....a few questions

So yeah...got my Pro Rec Y in October and waiting for FINSEL. Last week my wife suspiciously suggested that we go out to eat and, after we ordered, she announced that she's pregnant. I guess at this point I'm very glad I've already been selected.
Now, a few questions that are pretty important. My recruiter's been busy and because I moved out of state, my contact with him is only occasional.

1) Will the big Navy give me an OCS date that will allow me to graduate before the birth? (I don't care, just a planning item)

2) How will the Navy work the birth if it conflicts with my PCS move? I don't live anywhere near a base or my recruiter's office.

3) Because I'm prior service I didn't need a dependent waiver. This'll be my 4th child (long story)--will this next one affect my eligibility?

4) And the big one--will my dependents be eligible for TriCare when I attend OCS?

Thanks for any help. None of this will affect my desire or ability to attend OCS, it's just so we can plan. I've done research, but found conflicting information.
Thanks all.

1) probably not.
2) Once in the Navy the spouse, children and baby will fall under TriCare if outside military medical.
3) doubtful....you won't get paid any more than married with dependents.
4) see 2 above.

Any idea if they'll delay a PCS if it falls near my wife's due date? I was thinking PTAD at my recruiter's office, but now that's 5 hours away.

To #2 and 4, you are active duty when you attend OCS. Therefore, your family will be under TriCare unless your wife has another primary insurance.

How 'near' the due date are you worried about? I moved with my wife 7 months pregnant. We contacted doctors in the receiving duty station and everything went just fine. I don't know if they would adjust dates if you were set to move with her, say, 38 weeks pregnant.

I don't have a FINSEL yet, so whether she'll be 30 or 38 is not determined. Just something to mention to my recruiter, I guess. She's as on board with this Navy thing as I am, so whatever we have to do, we'll do

As far as delaying PCS moves, I had a sailor whose move was delayed a bit so that his wife could give birth, so yes, it can happen. I believe that's the sort of thing you would work out with your detailer. Since OCS isn't a PCS move, your best bet is probably to let your recruiter know the situation and see if he's able to work an earlier class for you, but there aren't any guarantees.

Thanks. I've been trying to contact him, but seems to be out of pocket.

Final story: My recruiter got me in a soon as he could and I graduated 3 days before the birth. My wife flew to Newport with the other children so they could watch me graduate. I enrolled her in DEERS early in OCS. It was easy since I had all of their vital records.

So your wife flew in to see you graduate 3 days before the birth? I thought flying that late was a no-no?

Also congrats on getting everything worked out. It just so happens that people who think ahead and have their shit in one sock just "coincidentally" have things work out with a much higher (but not 100%) probability.

As a good military spouse she's not apt to take "no you can't go see your husband after 3 months away from him" for an answer. She made it happen somehow. The baby came a little early; it's not as if she was flying 3 days before her due date. More like 3 weeks I think.
