anyone know how you get into FAST or other elite security teams? Do you start at as 0302 and transfer after you get some experience, or select a security bat? Is it popular out of TBS? I saw something about them on the history channel, and it looks like they do some CQC and CQD somewhat like the SEALs.

One of the platoon commanders from my battalion went to FAST. You have to be an 0302. Do your fleet tour and do it well on the Offcier side. On th enlisted side guys get assigned to FAST right out of SOI. They arent that much more high speed than the regular grunts and it isnt where the action is right now, they just have more money to train with and platoons are bigger and truly independant units.

From the "regualar" Grunt side... based on those FAST Marines who would finally get to the fleet and join our unit, they would talk like FAST should be the USMC componant of USSOCOM.

From then on we just called them (F)ake (A)$$ (S)eal (T)eams...
