F-4's at MCAS Mirimar

I've seen a handful of phantoms taking off from mirimar and today I think I saw a couple european single engine fighters, which looked a lot like an F-16 but i'm pretty sure those weren't F-16's, headed out over the water. Who still uses F-4's and why are they coming to mirimar?

A good deal of foreign governments still use aircraft the the US military has deemed obsolete. Contries such as Japan, Germany, Korea, Greece and Turkey. I am sure there are more countries out there.

As far as why they were there? I would bet they were either doing some joint training with our military or were there for a joint exercise and were just staging out of Miramar. Lots of allied nations send their pilot over here to train. For instance, Brazil just bought (within the last 2 yrs) the old french aircraft carrier fosche (spelling?) and we trained all their would be carrier aviators here in the states in T-45s out at meridian.

south korean government is retarded b/c from the choices between f/a-18's and f-16's THEY PICKED f-16!!! actually, it was this stupid lady in the government, who had NOTHING to do with the department of defense, who referred the idea to the president. DAMN HER!!!

uh...what?

They picked up the F-15K(which is basically a slightly souped up E) recently so it's pretty much like they're copying the USAF...just like the way they copy every other US branch.
