Just wondering, how do academic failures affect one in the pipeline...I mean obviously they are bad but does anyone have any numbers on how many people who have two test failures at API make it all the way through the pipeline? Just wondering, someone I know has that problem...

Any help would be appreciated...

Still learning how much I don't know.

It kinda depends on the branch of service. I know I've seen a Marine Pilot given a 3rd shot. I don't know if she made it or not.

I know of one person who failed a 4th test, Marine, and was redesignated...

I know a guy who failed 2 tests in API, and got 3 pink sheets between primary, intermediate, and advanced. He's flying $hitters now... It all depends on the person...

I failed two tests in primary and I am in Meridian right now about half way throught the program and I am having no major problems.

Just because your buddy may not be very good at taking tests dreamed up by some overpaid dork upstairs in the API building does not mean he will not do well down the road.

Besides the tests in primary and advanced are more straightforward and much easier.
-You pick the right answer, not the most right answer. (If you know what I mean)

pink sheets are not good to have because in your natops jacket there is a section that lists "any major problems noted" for each phase of training.

After you get your wings though, they mean jack. That is... until your first mishap.

I'll put the whole pink sheet thing in perspective - the WORST pilot in our squadron got through flight school with NO pink sheets. The best pilot, on the other hand - has two under his belt. It doesn't matter after you hit the fleet, other than sharing the stories over a beer at the O'Club.
