The FEBRUARY Event will be the Tailhook Headquarters Open House (during AFCEA week), on Thursday, 12 February 2009 from 1700-1900. As always, this will be one of the largest San Diego Tailhook events of the year, with lots of out-of-towners joining us (read: a bunch of folks you haven’t seen in a while…), and a wonderful array of beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres sponsored by Boeing, Butch Bucciarelli, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon. This is one you won’t want to miss! As always, flight suits, jackets, encouraged (if they still fit…). Tailhook HQ is located at 9696 Businesspark Avenue in Scripps Ranch. Map

UPDATED SPINS (as of 30 January 2009):

California Tailhook Association License Plates

We have been added to the CA DMV organization list for custom veterans group license plates. Our code for the application is W-21. A Tailhook license plate will have the Tailhook logo decal on the left of the plate where the first number or letter is normally located. All veteran’s plates have a logo decal and up to six spaces for letters or numbers. A plate may be ordered with sequential characters or personalized. Veterans plates are in the lowest special plate price category, $30 for sequential or $40 for personalized.
If you are interested click here to download the application
In item “5” enter W-21.
Make a check to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, and send the application along with your check to:

San Diego Ready Room Goes Net-Centric: We have a new Group page on Facebook:

Thanks to our newly-designated Communications Officer, “Beet” McGarvey (actually, a volunteer…), we now have a Group page on Facebook. If you’re into the whole social networking thing, this will be a great place to post items of interest, connect with others, and to place photos when we get some. Heck, the price is right (e.g., free…). To see more details and confirm this group invitation, follow the link here: http://www.facebook.com/n/?group.php&gid=47019636749 If for some reason that doesn’t work, search for “San Diego Tailhook Ready Room” from your own Facebook page and you’ll find us.

We’ll call a “knock it off” here… Look forward to seeing you all on 12 Feb at Hook HQ!

All the best to all, Spike

P-3 Bubba's can get a license plate with a coffee-mug in place of the first number/letter...
