Pretty sure it doesn't matter. They don't get displayed during RLP or anything like that. Only consideration is whether it'll show underneath uniforms, specifically the summer white uniforms. And since you're not gonna be wearing the summer uniforms, it shouldn't make a difference.

Your underwear will never ever ever be inspected at OCS. But I wouldn't want to be caught with colored undies showing when your PT shorts get disheveled during PT or a uniform fitting.

Negative. Something to do with CMEO, I suppose. What I was told is that initially, females were told they didn't have to display their skivvies for RLP anymore, and then they realized it was discriminatory to require the males to do something the females didn't have to, so they stopped it altogether.
So I'm guessing the 100 naked dudes squashed in to each other in a small shower room while DI's are jumping from stall to stall screaming at the OC's to hurry up in fanciful language is gone too?... Man... They are sapping all of the fun out of that place...

Nah the worst we got is 15-minute hygiene calls for like 40 dudes to try to cram into five showers. Then at the end, candios would shout "SAY MY DITTY RIGHT NOW." I only had indoc week in the communal bathrooms, so I don't know whether DI's messed with OC's in the head in old Nimitz. Anyone from 11-13 or earlier who can chime in?
Negative, don't think I ever saw a DI in the head.

I think the DI in our sister company may have messed with them once. I think they probably avoided the heads because they didn't want to let the females get off easy.
I think I also heard a story about "shaving by the numbers" once on a class that wasn't shaving up to par with what their class team wanted.
They have their own showers now. New Nimitz is a nicer building than a lot of college dorms.

During wake up wednesday the DI gave us a 3 minute headcall after morning "intro to PT" to shower and shave. 30+ dudes, 5 showers, you do the math. Didn't think he was serious until he burst in the door and started counting down fast 1-2-0, 1-1-9, 1-1-8. He was screaming for us to stand up straight with our heels together and feet at 45 while we shaved and what not. I shit you not. Good times.
