Final Select: SNA

So I have been applying for the BDCP over the past year or so, and finally got everything done about a month ago. Today, I finally got a call from my recruiter today saying that I got my final selection as SNA, which I am really excited about.

There was a catch, however. One of the people processing my application before it went to the board accidentally put me down as a direct commission application instead of BDCP. When I got accepted they called my recruiter and asked him when I could show up for OCS. He was confused, but finally figured out what was going on. He then asked them to reconsider me for the BDCP, but it turns out that the SNA slots in the BDCP are completely full with people more qualified than I am apparently. They did agree to delay my entrance, so now I have a spot in OCS and flight training after I graduate next spring.

So essentially a mistake made by some employee ended up getting me accepted when nothing else would have worked! My recruiter told me he had no idea how this ended up happening, and has never seen anything like it before. It will be a bummer not to have BDCP benefits this year, but I'll take whatever I can get! God works in mysterious ways!

Huge Congratulations on your Final Select. Seems like you had a quick turn around. You put everything in for May, got your rec, and final select before a month passed? I see a lot of people on here that wish they had half your luck with getting their FS.

Congrats. You can apply up to a year out for direct commisioning, so it looks like you got one of the first cracks at it and that is clutch.

Congrats man. Just goes to show you that things work out for the best (however they manage to work out).
