final select, swear-in

Hello there,
I was recently a final select for SNA (selected last week). I am currently working a job and taking care of a family member and I was curious to know when one begins to receive some sort of pay. My OCS date is April 6th and I swear-in this week. I am aware you are not an officer till you complete OCS, but does one get any sort of pay?

When you report to OCS (or maybe when you leave to go there) you get paid as an E-5.

You will be paid thru OCS, and then be paid an an O-1 when you get commissioned at the end of OCS.

You usually don't receive your first paycheck for at least a month or more while in OCS. OC's get back pay, but plan on not needing the initial money.

Does anyone know if it is still delayed a month if you are getting a paycheck every 2 weeks on BDCP before leaving?

The reason for the delay is that it takes a while for the great Navy machine to get rolling once you get in. BDCP'ers are already in and do not have to worry about this.

Woohoo, swore in today myself! I work for The Man, now.

Get this though, I was told earlier and OTOOLS says my OCS date is 15MAR, but the letter I got said I was reporting on the 3rd!

OSO's trying to get it nailed down on the 15th...guess we'll see...
