FINALLY: DFAS changes leave carryover days

Here's the DFAS story.

Currently you can carry over only 60 days until after 01OCT08....then you can carry over 75 days. So in effect, this won't affect anyone until FY09.

I read that as saying you will only be able to carry 75 days between Oct '08 and Dec '10. Doesn't seem like too great of a deal if it's only for a specific time.

It has to do with how legislation is written - very common to have sundown provisions written in, then subsequently re-authorized.
