FINDOCS Anxiety

Two quick questions from the knowledge pool:

1) I think NOMI has a copy of a civy eye exam that says my vision is 20/30 uncorrected, and that with a refraction of 1.25 diopters for astigmatism, it corrects to 20/15. The SNA manifest refraction limit for astigmatism is 1.00 diopters, but it only has to correct to 20/20. Mathematically speaking, I could probably read the 20/20 line with a 1.00 diopter correction (I read 20/25 uncorrected for my FINDOCS physical). I think my question is: should I sweat it out and wait to see what NOMI says, or go to my optometrist and ask them to find the lowest manifest refraction for me to read the 20/20 line, and send that in as well?

2) They didn't do a blood alcohol test for my FINDOCS physical, which I found out last week after I'd been pro-rec'd. So, I got a blood alcohol test as soon as I could, even though I had a drink two days before I got the test done. At the time I kind of figured, well I'm 23, so it's not big deal if I have a drink now and then, right? Anyway, what happens if they find like .003% alcohol or something similar in my blood?

Thanks again

Outside of 48 hours even a voluminous imbibing of the sacrement wouldn't show up on a blood alcohol test, as it metabolizes quickly. As for the astigmatic refraction. I can't honestly tell you they will look past it. I don't know. If I were you I'd check NOMI about this, and if you think you can get another exam with a 20/20 reading at a 1.00 astigmatic refraction, then tell them to hold your paperwork and do it. BE PROACTIVE. Opthalmologists often overprescribe to better than 20/20. CHECK this out. Don't get screwed over by being passive.

Wheee

Just listened to a message from my recruiter saying that I was physically qualified and she has some sort of commission paper for me to sign...

Did I just get a final select?

Having paperwork to sign is usually a good thing. Now don't do something stupid like go celebrating by hitting the crack pipe.
