Fingerless Flight Gloves

The only ones I can find that have the 3 fingers exposed for touchscreen usage are the Wiley X.

They fit like shit. I'm not the only one in the squadron that thinks so, either. I use Sparco racing gloves and have cut the fingers. However, I'm curious if there's any other companies that make a good alternative.

Are any of y'all familiar with any other brands that you recommend? They don't even have to be Nomex, since I'll buy them myself.

I'm a huge fan of Outdoor Research Overlord gloves, but they don't always make them. It looks like they're not being made at the moment, but it might be worth calling and asking. They've been very supportive of military buyers in the past, and I think one of their glove SKUs are popular with SOF (though they're not flight gloves).

Otherwise, you can peruse these various threads. People have mentioned various other options (with the Overlords being the favorite).

Maybe they are being made?

Never bought that model, but have some of their other stuff. Have always been happy with them.

Those are the ones (albeit updated). Not sure why they didn't come up in my search.

@HuggyU2 , I'd give them a call and see if they'll be making more if those aren't your size. OR also offers a nice .mil discount.

Outdoor Research Overlord IIs are the better alternative in terms of fit, but like Gatordev said, they'll often be unavailable for months at a time. I will say, at least in my experience, the Overlords seem to develop a far worse stink than the Wiley X gloves once your hands have sweat through them.

I spoke to Outdoor Research today. No plans to offer anything for a few months.

I don't understand how gloves are "seasonal". However they said if we wanted to do a bulk order, we should contact their "tactical suppliers".

I'll just buy the Sparco gloves I normally use and have a seamstress modify them to my specs.

Just take scissors to your nomex ones.
Not an option I like. Kind of like wearing jorts and a wife beater to the mall... along with my free BC prescription sunglasses that I got from Flight Medicine.

Asking the bigger question though....they let you wear fingerless gloves in the U-2?
