Its too bad that the medals are almost always (if not always) given posthumously (because typically the act that gives them the MoH takes their life). It was a great story, and from reading the post it sounds like there might be some other potentials for the MoH. Our country is lucky to have people with that much courage willing to die for their fellow soldiers, and country.

Actually, out of the 3400 total MOH given since 1861, only 600 have been posthumous.
