Fleet Air Arm Museum

An excellent museum, if you find yourself across the pond I would also suggest going to Duxford. It is addition to having a world class aviation museum, they also have a large facility that has tanks and other land warfare items. Also on the field are several companies that specialize in rebuilding WW II era warbirds. There is a Dragon Rapid that operates from the field, with rides that are fairly inexpensive, even more so considering that you aren't going find too many places to get a hop in one.

The UK is serious about their history, military and otherwise. You'd have to work to be more than 100 miles away from a really good museum.

Ditto. Duxford also flies many of their aircraft daily. It is pretty cool to see WW II aircraft flying around an old WW II aerodrome that has many of the same old buildings. Stand in the right place and you will get the exact same view of flight ops as anyone on base in 1940.
