Flight Physical Question

ok, this is probably the last thing in my app that's nagging at me. my flight physical is all good except for a very slightly abnormal reading on the EKG for my heart. something about the electrical pulse from the upper right to lower left quadrant being slightly slower than normal. the Doc talked to me about it for a while, and finally said he wasn't concerned about it and would attribute it to 12 years of distance running. said he'd make a note of it.

But now all my results go through two more reviews apparently, according to my OSO. some other place and finally BUMED i think it is.

my question is: what are the chances my physical gets shot down at these other places? Do they get more and more strict when they look at these physicals or what is the purpose of the three review boards? the rest of my health is great. vision great, height weight great, etc. the thought of getting accepted and having my whole app rest on someone at BUMED looking at a small curve on my cardiogram is tough to think about. I just want a sense of whether or not I'm wasting time worrying about it - do they disqualify people at the slightest hint of something strange? any light on the matter?

Yeah, every time I do my long form, the machine spits out a "Right branch brachial block/delay" warning. Bottom line, it's no big deal, the doc looks at it and gives me the thumbs up. Don't waste any sleep on it, shipmate.

Of course, in Brett's case, the flight doc might simply be pleasantly surprised to find that Brett evn has a heart.

Along similar lines I "passed" my flight physical at NAS Key West about 6 months ago after taking the EKG 3 or 4 times. I was notified that I was preselected for OCC 193. Three days ago I get a call from my OSO saying that I have to take another EKG with my family doc. I took that EKG yesterday and it has a couple of hiccups that my doctor called "essentially normal". I was somewhat concerned so I called down to Key West and spoke to someone in the aviation office who was adamant that I should not send this new EKG in......so now what???!!!!!!

no sh!t!!! is that recent? I was thinking about doing the same thing myself - not jumping jacks but a little jog or something, i was thinking that might do the trick. apparently it does? When i had my EKG my resting heartrate was 45 bpm. i thought maybe i was a little too relaxed or something. so if they ask for a re-do, i should just do some jumping jacks?

yeah, I concur with the rest of the comments. I posted a few months back after they found RBBB in my EKG and after an annoying series of (non-invasive) work-ups, I was pronounced healthy. I wouldn't worry unless your flight doc seems worried.
