Flight Spots For '08?

My recruiter informed me that the amount of flight spots fluctuate from year to year, which is based on The Corp's needs and how many people are leaving etc. He also told me that '08 was going to have more flight slots open than previous years. Is there any truth to this or are slots going to be just as tight if not more so?

I just switched from ground to air, (post-OCS, pre-Commission), with no problems. If that is any testament to 2008 Air Slot availability...

Concur; their all always spots so simply apply. Don’t worry about how many their are. However, the 202k build up should allow for more air slots.

lol no no no... well yes and no. I figure if you get an air slot then that at least makes you more eligible for getting jets then if you don't get an air slot period. Just wanted to know the likelihood of being able to get my foot in the door

You should be more worried about what all the pavement in your hometown looks like ... GO RUN.

You don't need to worry about that crap now. The week you select out of primary might be all jet, or all helo, or all prop eek ... will still have nothing to do with much of anything but needs of the Corps for that moment in time. The week I selected all us jet eligible guys found out we would be flying Hercs (only by the grace of God, mind you ...). You don't know whats good for ya till they tell you

Haha ya... still seems like there is a lot of swing in the dark when it comes to air positions and so forth, and from what I have gathered from the posts above as well as from other threads, all one can do is try and try harder :icon_tong
