Former Marine playing in the NCAA tourney

im gonna have to go see this guy play... Only 45 minutes or so down the road.

And they used the word "ex-Marine" in there... WTH, its FORMER MARINE... It bothers me because I run into a lot of vets down here that, when asked what branch they served in, they say with a present tense "I am a Marine." I've even had a few say "there are so such things as ex-Marines."

I know a guy who switched to Army because they offered him like 20k or something ridiculous... When asked out of uniform what branch, he still replies "I'm a Marine... the Army is renting me" or something silly like that

Ummmmmm......most people don't know that and would not care about the difference between ex-Marine and former Marine. There are plenty of things to get riled about but I would imagine this should be pretty low on the list......;)

Just like most people don't know (or care) about the difference between your alma mater and VMI, the Academies, etc.

Sure, there are plenty of things to get riled about - like Knobs using *gasp* sidewalks on the Avenue of Remembrance...... ;)

Painfully true........though people usually ask "Were you the one with that girl?".................'Sigh', "Yes but she [the Whale] dropped out".......:D

Re: the OP about the Marine in the tourney--UNT is on right now, over halfway through the first and they're holding their own with #2 Memphis...

Well, I had none (The Whale was there my senior year but left before I got back............:D), so I guess I really am Old Corps! ;)
