Ladies, Gents:
I’ve been trying to find a simple answer or two online, and have been unsuccessful so far. I am sure someone here will be able to provide a quick, concise answers, however, here is a brief back story.
I am currently deployed to AFG with RCT-7 and am working on applying for the FY-11 Field Accession Board that should be held around August 2010. I am currently on R&R and am unable to bounce some of these questions off of our AirOs and Adj, thus, why I am defaulting to AW. Originally before commissioning several years ago, I was on an aviation contract with a soft contact lens waiver, but that option ended up being untenable due to an injury I suffered that removed me from the OCS pipeline and required me to recontract. When I did, soft contact lens waivers were no longer a consideration.
Now, I no longer require contact lenses as I paid for PRK a year ago and now have 20/20 vision, thus, the opportunity to pursue an aviation career is open to me again. However, I have a couple simple questions I cannot answer for myself at this exact moment.
1. How long are ASTB scores valid for? I took the ASTB around the beginning of 2006, I believe, and am not sure if the scores are valid anymore.
2. How long is a flight physical valid for? I took flight physical in Spring 2008 and was curious if its results / findings would still be valid for the board.
I’ve been looking through the NAMI website as well as Google, but haven’t found any quality answers so far.
Any gouge would be helpful. Thanks!
