2. EFFECTIVE 1 OCT 08, MARINE CORPS RECRUITING COMMAND MAY OFFER AN OFFICER ACCESSION BONUS OF $4,000 TO CANDIDATES WHO MEET THE BELOW ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA.

3. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
A. MUST GRADUATE OCS VIA AN OCC PROGRAM DURING FY09.
B. MUST RECEIVE A COMMISSION AS A MARINE CORPS SECOND LIEUTENANT DURING PERIOD OF 1 OCT 08 THROUGH 30 SEP 09.
C. MUST SIGN A WRITTEN AGREEMENT PRIOR TO ATTENDING OCS THAT COMMITS THE MEMBER TO A MINIMUM OF 6 ADDITIONAL MONTHS OF ACTIVE
COMPONENT SERVICE OBLIGATION ADDED TO THE ORIGINAL PROGRAM OBLIGATION. CANDIDATES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WHILE ATTENDING OCS.

Awesome, here's to hoping they'll continue to offer the loan repayment for FY09 OCC graduates.

$4000 will buy your uniform and sword at TBS. You probably will deploy as soon as you check into your unit. You will make all that $4000 while you are deployed. Unless you are in a bind and need money ASAP, $4000 is not alot of money for extending your contract by 6 months. Those 6 months could mean another deployment.

I didnt go through an OSO for OCC-199, Im active duty, so who prepares my agreement? I called the Major on the MARADMIN as a POC and he said call an OSO. I called an OSO and they were stumped. Any thoughts?

Well, you won't be MECEP if you did OCC. Call the Major again and make sure you explain your situation.
You are supposed to sign the agreement prior to OCS. I am not sure you are even eligible.

Well when I spoke with him (the Major) he didnt say I wasnt eligible. Was a little crude and sounded busy. Ill just beat up the OSO for gouge. I am OCC and have not been yet plus the MARADMIN doesnt state that it doesnt apply to ECP.

This sounds like an incentive for 6mos added on to your contract. 6 months for 4k?
