FY13 Quota Numbers

Hey all,

I got the FY13 quotas the other day, accurate as of Sep 7th . I was told I could (suggested) post rough numbers, and what they should mean.

SWO-About 50
NFO- Under 20
Pilot- About 100
AMDO-5
Intel/IW- Around 20
Supply- About 40
CEC- About 25
Seal- Under 10
2 or less for SWO options, IP, Oceano, EOD, EDO, and Cyberwar.
Fair amounts for all medical, JAG, Chaplain, etc.
No PAO listed.
Current (FY12) still needs Nukes.

What this means is that there should (as per guidelines) be at least one fall and one spring board for SWO, Pilot, NFO, Supply, Intel, and CEC between October 2011 and September 2012. AMDO, Seal, and the rest will likely only have 1 board between now and September 2012.

As a note, worrying about the actual numbers does no good for anyone. Send in your best package no matter what. I posted to post this to help people who are getting told no boards until Fall 2012, and things like that. There are spots available, there are just few and far in-between. Use the time you have until the next board to make your package as best as possible.

Good luck everyone!

Probably better chance for me to get picked up for OCS than making MA1. Quotas for MA1 been around 5% the past couple years. Gotta look at the bright side of things.

Thanks for the info, lucy. As I know, there will be a supply board at next monday, Sep26th. So does it means it most likely to have another one after that for FY13? This is my first time apply and do you happen to know what is the acceptance rate for supply? Thank you.

My recruiter said she is hearing that the next board may be January 2012. Anyone know how many applicants are usually in the system for these boards as of late? Are the above numbers down significantly compared with this present year?

Ruby- Yes, there should be at least one more supply board after September, sometime before next July. I do not know about the current acceptance rates, but generally between 10-30%.

fly-Number of applicants for boards is really high right now. Outside of Supply and Pilot, other designators have not had a board for almost a year. this means there will be a lot of apps when the boards do meet again.

As with all designators it depends on the number of applicants and the spots available, so knowing past acceptance rates don't matter much. However, it usually is between 10-30%.

I caution thinking too much on this though. If it is low, it is easy to become overly concerned about not making it, if it is high then a non-select is all the more difficult to receive. Trying to guess the outcome does no good, but rather use the energy to research more about your designator, take classes, etc. Every minute spent worrying about the number, or checking to see about news, is a minute lost that could be used to develop yourself as a person, and as a future Officer.

Schedules are suppose to be out 3 months prior to the start of the FY. However, that has yet to happen for FY13 selection boards.

Kinda. Boards are announced (whether word gets out or not is different) at least one month before the apps are due. Potentially there could be a November board if it was announced this week. Usually there isn't one in December, so more likely is the Jan-Mar time frame.

However, as this last year has shown, things change, so it is always possible the board could be announced and have apps due a week or two later, just not likely.
