Glasses

Two quick questions about glasses in OCS.

1 - I currently only wear glasses for driving. Will I have to wear them full time in OCS?
2 - The OCS website says:
Glasses (sturdy pair for wear during physical activity with black/brown strap) You will be issued a government pair of glasses for the first 9 weeks, and then you will be allowed to wear your civilian glasses.
Is it worth it/necessary to get a pair of "sports glasses" to use until I'm issued BCGs, or can I use my current glasses (lightweight, minimal frame) with a strap?

Thanks. (I might be over-thinking this... I'm still really new to glasses wearing...)

If you only need them for driving, then you probably won't need them for PT. I'd bring them, but won't wear them unless absolutely necessary. For those that are legally blind, they will wear BCGs (once issued) with a retaining strap.

Our class team made anyone that was issued BCG's wear them. However, until you are issued if you don't have to wear them, don't wear any glasses. Wearing glasses during pt is awful, so avoid it if you can.

If you need your glasses wear your civilian glasses, then the BCG's once you get them. Don't buy sports glasses. They will draw unnecessary attention to you for the 5 days or whatever until you get your glorious BCG's, plus they cost money you don't need to spend. Once you get to OCS you will spend so much unnecessary money on RLP things, don't start at home. Bring a good glasses strap though.
