GO STATE!!!
I just recently talked with an officer recruiter and I told her my stats and she said that I should really consider putting in a package for BDCP.

Here are my stats:

Major: Geosciences (Professional Meteorology Concentration). Program requires math up through diff. equations I and Physics II.

GPA: 2.84 (Still have 2.5 years left)

Extracur. Activities: National Weather Association/American Meteorological Society, Intramural Sports, NJROTC in high school (many positions of responsibility)

ASTB Scores: OAR-54, AQR-6, PFAR-7, FOFAR-7

My recruiter said that she "needs and NFO." I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if she really thinks I have a shot or is she just desparate to meet her quota. I am willing to try for however many times it takes because I do have a little while left on my degree plus by then my GPA will be higher too. Any help on this I would appreciate it.

I don't know man... that GPA seems a little weak. They might ask you to raise it and then reapply. Other than that, you seem good to go. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Well considering you are majoring in the sciences and not liberal arts...I've heard a few different times that that is a pretty good GPA considering. However, I'd raise it above the 3.0 mark this semester or next. It will take a bit to get your app in, so you have some time. All those recommendations can take a few months. Especially if you have to track down employers or are involved in a lot of activities (as it sounds like you are). Good luck.

It depends on what BDCP community you are applying for. If you are shooting for SNA you can forget about it until you get your GPA above a 3.0

Supply is more lax, but not that lax. If you retake your lowest classes and blow them out of the water, your GPA should shoot up. If you are serious about the program, get your preliminary docs submitted, and in the meantime, boost that GPA

The GPA may be a little low but if she wants to work your app then go for it. You can always reapply and a reapplication is its own character reference. The recruiter's goal has nothing to do with her encouragement to apply. A recruiter doesn't get credit for toward their goal until the applicant gets through indoc at OCS. An application means nothing but work for her. So if she says go for it, then get off your butt and start the process.
