Is that a Mirage in the middle pic? And is it flown by the airforce?

Actually Noze, if you've ever seen Iron Eagle, you would know that it's a Mig 23. :icon_tong A private company called ATAC that provides adversary services among other things.

Iron Eagle was actually on AMC this afternoon. I don't care if it's cheesy I'm still entertained...

I took my son to the show Sat. 1 1/2 hours in traffic just to get to the parking lot. Ok show, but the gaps in the flying were tedious. Once again, the Super Hornet demo was the best one of the day.

like others have said, it's a Kfir, flown by a civilian organization called ATAC. very similar to a Mirage, but with a bigger engine added in the back - this according to the ex-USAF pilot who was manning the display on Friday.

the cockpit of the one on static display had been updated with a big Garmin GPS unit, right in the middle of the instrument panel. the company apparently leases the planes (not sure from who) rather than owning them outright.

Best demo, worst narration. He obviously didn't read his lines ahead of time.

I really enjoyed seeing the Red Arrows for the first time ever and the F-22 demo/heritage flight was pretty awesome too.
