Hi everybody ,
Currently i am enlisted in US navy . i am trying to go officer commissioning program through OCS . Since i have my degree is from foreign country and its not updated in my SMART transcript ,i got transcripts/credentials of those evaluated from recognized credential evaluator recognized by department of education, . Then i tried to update my smart transcript from navy collage. but they rejected me saying i most have the certificate issued by universities of USA. I made several calls and email to OCS office at Pensacola to get those infos but they never receive my call and never ever replied my email.
Making the story short here is my question.
!) Do i need my degree included in SMART TRANSCRIPT iwhile submitting my OCS package ? Is it like "it will be better" or it is parts of one of the requirement ? Can i apply with out it ? . Do they accept the credential evaluation ?
2) What is best suggestion for me ? how can i get my way out ?

Your help will be defiantly appreciated. Thanks for your great co-opretion in advance.

First of all, OCS is now in Newport, R.I., no longer in Pensacola, FL. That may be the reason you have been unable to contact them, if you are using their old contact info. You probably don't want to contact OCS directly for questions about commissioning programs, but rather go through your command career counselor. The counselors are usually pretty knowledgeable about these things. Secondly, your degree must be on the list of nationally accredited schools. I have no idea how foreign degrees transfer over, if they do at all. If you do end up submitting an OCS package, you might want to put a little more effort into your grammar, punctuation, and overall composition of your writing before you write your motivational statement. Good luck.

Thx Ken for your rapid response. I have this situation because of dumb command career counselor. He was the one who told me to get evaluate my credentials and i will be good to go. but Navy collage did not accepted it. They want me to submit transcript issued by university from USA. I did a lot of researches in internate but its all confusing. Thats why i am here .
again ! can i enroll in to OCS program with my foreign degree that is evaluated by recognized credential evaluator ?
Thank You again !

Also, I hope you didn't attach this to your transcript or resume...it could also explain why.

I know a thing or two about foreign degrees from experience, not my own but close enough!
The reason why they won't take paperwork from a foreign country is because of the fact that it could be just that, paper. I know for a fact that you can buy a degree abroad without attending a single class, which I think kind of defeats the point of having a degree to be an officer. Now, don't get me wrong, you could be legit, I am not questioning your credentials. However, they will! So my advise to you is to take some classes here, most of your credits will transfer so you may just need a semester or two to get your diploma issued by an accredited institution.
Good Luck!
