Help regarding ASTB Study Guides

Hello everyone,
I have to take the ASTB in 2 weeks, this site seems to have a lot of useful information, but I seem to be getting lost with so much mixed information. I am hoping to get some advice/information/answers regarding best study guides and if possible example questions to prepare me for the ASTB. I'm not too familiar with military jargon which is making it harder for me to understand some of the conversations going on with this forum. Thank you in advance!

There are a total of six threads that are stickied in the ASTB forum and each thread has anywhere from 10 to 70+ pages of info, questions, and answers.

I know coming into this new is daunting but take the time to look through those threads and then when you have specific questions feel free to post them. Military jargon can be confusing to outsiders, the more you read and research the better a handle you will have on it. Google some of the acronyms if you can't figure them out and you should get a good idea of what is being said.

Welcome to the site. The aviator gods help those help themselves.

Thanks, and I actually went through the threads and felt overwhelmed with so many comments, it seems that it may be the only way to narrow information. I guess I was hoping for specifics since I have a time crunch.

I am preparing for the ASTB as well, if you read through all the forums and still feel a little overwhelmed I would break it down and keep it simple. You know there is 5 sections to the test, look at how many questions and time you have for each section. And then review from there... the marine gouge seems to be a good starting point, attrickpays is very good as well (use the search to find his) also the handbook of aeronautical knowledge is key for the aviation section. You will be overwhelmed if you try to read 100 pages of others methods and then try to come up with your own...
