For those who have taken forms 3-5, what kind of aviaiton/space history questions are there? Any recollection of dates in particular? I've looked over the main gouge pdf, just wondering what else I need to study.

Oh, and by the way, if anyone is using the Barron's Military Flight Aptitude Tests book to study...you may find the spatial section has issues.

to be honest the stuff in the gouge PDF is really good. It will ask you things like the birthdate of the Navy, etc. Simple stuff. I think I had a question about pearl harbor as well.

As far as space questions, know:

1. First man in space
2. First woman in space
3. First man to orbit the earth
4. First man to step on the moon

Definitely know those four!! If I remember correctly all 4 or 3 out of those four were on forms 3 and 4. Good luck.

How about not giving away test questions?

Yes, seriously. There's a fine line between steering someone in the right direction, and giving them the damn test questions. Gouge questions aren't guaranteed to be on the test - I'm guessing it at about 60-70% for the Marine Gouge.

I have no problem helping people do better on the test. Hell, I wrote one of the popular online study guides. But I draw the line at giving out questions. They came up with version 3/4/5 in the first place because the questions to earlier forms had become too widespread on the internet and destroyed the validity of the test.

By the way, when you take the computer version of the ASTB, do you get to backtrack and review test questions? I would also imagine that seeing one question at a time on the screen would put the applicant at a disadvantage. On the paper test, one could scan the page for quick and easy questions to take out first.

blah blah blah.......and destroyed the validity of the test.

You really think there is any "validity" to the ASTB? How does knowing who the first people in space show that I can fly an aircraft?

Lighten up.....and if anyone takes posts from the internet to be a "gauranteed" question on the test, that's their problem. Live by the gouge and die by the gouge. :)

I don't know about anyone else, but I get quized on those things on every flight. I mean, if you can't talk about John Glenn while flying and doing EP's what kind of aviator are you? :)
