I'm curious as to how the ASTB is scored. I just took the "gouge" practice test from this site and was wondering how people on the real test compared to how they did there - I think that might give people (like me) a good indication of how much they need to improve before taking the real test.

I took the MVT and MCT only since I haven't studied for the rest of the test. I got 43 of 47 right on the MVT and 31 of 36 on the MCT. Does anybody know what this would translate to on the ASTB or have a URL that explains the scoring prodedures?

That's about what I got on the actual ASTB, and I ended up with a 57 OAR. You still need to take the other portions of the test of course, but so far that's about where you stand. Good luck!

Oh, as far as the scoring procedures go, you have to fill out this entire page-long worksheet in order to figure out your adjusted score from your raw score. Luckily my recruiter had some sort of conversion table and did it rather quickly. At any rate, the scoring system is pretty strange from what I understand...
