How far out from grad can you be before applying?

I have my associates and am looking to finish up a BA while on active duty. I didnt score high enough on the ACT math portion to apply for STA-21 this year. I am rolling over to shore duty and should be able to finish there and was wondering how far out can you be from graduation before applying to OCS?

from my OR: You must be within 6 months of graduation with a degree to apply straight to OCS.

I am in a slightly different situation (one year left in a traditional four year undergrad program), but I was just accepted for a direct commission. I will class up for OCS next summer. So FWIW you may be able to apply for up to a year out.

Look up BDCP and thank me later...(24 months)

He is already enlisted, so unless I missed something, I don't think BDCP is an option.

What is this different situation? He told me that I will not be able to apply to OCS until I am within 6 months of graduation. Is this not correct?

I was referring to the original post--I am not already on active duty, I am in a civilian college. I don't know if that changes anything about the application to OCS, but I thought I should clarify. I don't know what your recruiter told you, all I know is that I just got accepted to OCS a full year away from when I am supposed to class up.

I get my degree in April of next year. But my OR told me I had to wait until 6 months or closer to that date. WTF? I just emailed him so I will probably here something back on Monday. It would be nice if I can start applying now.

Thanks for the info.

Ok I will be 29 when I seperate from the Navy with 8 years time in service. I think 29 is the max age for SNA for prior enlisted and 31 for NFO? I am thinking if I do not get accepted for an officer program by the time my EAOS comes up I will get out and maybe join the reserves.
