Okay, I do really really well on every section except this one. I'm shooting to fly heli's so I know I gotta be at the very top, but do they really care about this section, or is it sort of like the bio section, to gauge previous knowledge?

once you get into flight school, NO ONE cares about the ASTB. It will never be a factor again.

The Nautical/Aviation section on the ASTB is very important factor on your primary selcection, or so I am told by my OSO...any one who has actually been there and everything PLEASE feel free to correct me if I am wrong....just brush up on it a little bit man...that's what I have been doing...with a little studying it should be a breeze!

please look at the post above. ASTB will NEVER, EVER, EVER be a factor after you get selected for aviation.

Actually, your Pilot or FO Flight aptitude grade is in a little box on one of the many forms buried in your ATJ. (For those who aren't in the pipeline yet, that's the jacket which has all your grades in it for flight training, follows you through the pipeline, and is basically guarded like it contains nuclear launch codes) I only know this because I found it whilst flipping through mine in Student Control when I was bored. As for how many times I have been asked for mine since I took the test, zilch. So apparently it's important enough for an official record, but I don't think it'd be a factor short of a TRB (For those not in the pipeline, don't ask, that's a very bad thing).

primary selection AS A USMC officer w/flight package...wow...

You have to realize you are in a forum that is read predominately by aviators. To them, the term "Primary Selection" refers to when you are assigned the type of flying machine you will aviate. So when you ask them about "Primary Selection," you will get answers to that affect.
