How long the process for OCS?

Guys,

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I have not checked for a while now. How long would it take from the time my package is submitted until I get the word to ship to OCS? Also, is there any way of bypassing delayed entry or is this mandatory? Any guesstimates would be appreciated

I was notified in February and reported in March. I've known others who had 3 month waits as well as others who have had 2 day notice to report. It varies.

I started working on my application in late November, submitted late december / early January, received word on the pro-rec late February, and am set to swear in early April. I can't go to OCS until I graduate, though

Right you are. Situations vary depending on your individual circumstance, the needs of the navy, and sometimes the willingness of your recruiter. I started applying in Nov, got pro-rec word in Feb, decided to have PRK (yesterday) and will have to wait out the 3 month post-op till I can be sworn in/get an OCS date. Sometimes these things take a while.

How did you apply with out having a final college GPA to give them?

Thanks...

Honestly, unless your GPA is like, below a 2.0, I'd start anyway. First, it can take a long time to get all of your stuff together. Second, there's a good chance that even with a less-than-stellar GPA, you can get in. Just a thought.

Wow, that's news to me...Unfortunately I still need to work on raising my GPA some before I can apply.

Read this thread, if you haven't.

Also, I was selected with a 2.9 GPA...but a 4.0 in physics, so maybe that's not a great example. Anyway, the point is, you can definately contact a recruiter and take the ASTB. The worst that can happen is they say, let's wait one more semester for your GPA to go up.

Your GPA may not be the most competitive, but in my case a 85 WGA from GMI ~3.0 4.0 scale was off set by my Major (ME/EE, with a 94WGA once I dropped to ME with a EE Minor)

Thanks for all of the advice and encouragement guys.

My GPA right now is 2.37 (Marketing). I'll spare you all the sob story as to why it's so low, but it is what it is. I have somewhat easier classes this semester so I figure at the end of Spring it will be around 2.8 or so. This summer I'm going to load up on easy classes to help raise my GPA as high as possible (I still needed 5 credit hours to graduate, so I would've needed to continue school through the summer anyways.)

Also, I transferred to UF from Santa Fe Community College where I got my AA (3.45). My recruiter told me that they average the SFCC GPA with my UF GPA, so that will help. But, he also said that they will look at my UF GPA alone as well.

EDIT: I did take the ASTB already (twice). 7/8/5 54 both times. I will likely retake...
