Rotor and Wing Magazine is reporting that a a helo from USS Monterey (CG) and a helo from a German frigate intercepted a pirate vessel firing on the Merchant Vessel MV Courier - and successfully ended the attack with weapons deployed from each aircraft.

Presumably, on our end this aircraft was a Bravo from either 42 or 46?

The German aircraft was almost certainly a Lynx.

In any case - "good on 'em" - Nice to see the embarked M240B door gun put to use!

Get some baby!!!

Next up.... some crazy looking for an early meeting with Allah launches an RPG or two at one of our helos.

We get to sink a row boat. Hopefully the bad guy won't get lucky and bag a multimillion dollar aircraft and priceless crew.

Asymmetric warfare at it's best (or worst)

The 60B uses an M60, or a GAU if they have it installed.

Wouldn't you be called a "hero pirate" in Japan?
