IFS and per diem?

I will be commisioning in about a week and will be doing IFS at my current location while temporarily attatched to my NROTC unit. My orders list this as an intermediate duty station and go on to say that I am not authorized for per diem if this intermediate duty station is in the same geographic location as my ultimate duty station. So as a corollary of the above statement, since my intermediate and ultimate duty stations are not in the same geographic location, it seems to me that I will be entitled to per diem. Have any of you guys recieved per diem while doing IFS at your unit? If you do get per diem do you continue to recieve BAH?

In the same situation - I will be getting BAH but no per-diem. Works out better for me because BAH in Atlanta is like $1000/month...

I don't think you could get per-diem. I would be surprised if any NROTC guys on AW were able to pull that off.

They told me when I checked in at API that we were only entitled to per diem if we do not sign a lease for an apartment or house. That way, per diem is being used to support a hotel bill and your daily meals. I don't know if that is only a policy in place in the Pensacola area, but I would be very surprised to find that you would get per diem while stashed at an NROTC unit.

Yes, if you are married. Otherwise I'm pretty sure it's one or the other. The navy will pay for you to have a roof over your head in one place at a time unless your spouse can't come with you on temporary orders and still has to pay rent at home. Make sense?
