Ifs @ tbs?

Simple question-

Would a newly minted Lt be required to complete IFS it that Lt already holds a civilian pilot certificate? I have Private, Instrument, and about 200 hours.

Simple answer is NO. IFS is just a screening program. You have already done that with your licenses.

Since the question was already answered, I might as well jack this bitch. They passed around sign up sheet again today for those of us not picked up at TBS yet to go to IFS. I'm not sure if ATR is going to clear me to start with Charlie just yet so I signed up for it. Even if I do it and pick up with Delta a month later it wont be that bad. Gotta do it anyhow...

I'll update if it actually happens this time. They tried passing it right after the new year but there were too many TBS-complete Lts already in line for it.

It happened. I was cleared from medical to pick up with Charlie company at the end of march. I will instead start IFS on the week of the 16th and pick up with Delta company right after. They took 20 of us for it. So we'll be doing it backwards than most but it should be fun. They moved everything ahead 2 weeks so that we have time to finish it before Delta picks up. Unless theres bad weather, we should pick up Delta IFS-complete without a problem. Just wanted to update....

Didnt tell us yet. We just had the first brief with Mr. S today. He said hes going to just split us up half and half. We werent supposed to start until the 23rd but he moved everything up to the 16th so that we have time to get it all in so that we can pick up with Charlie. When we all come back from the leave block next week we'll know more
