IGEP API start date

Does anybody know if IGEPers coming from NPS or AFIT have to go through a really long wait for API or start up pretty fast since they were esentially stashed for a year?

They wait for however long the wait is. Class dates are given according to four things:

1. Check-in date.
2. SNA or SNFO
3. When you finish your pre-API stuff. (IFS, NAMI, PRT/swim, etc)
4. If you're a SNA, where you're going for primary.

Hope that helps.

unless you already finished IFS, you'll have to do that too, which takes a good chunk of time that I would never go as far to call work.

Yeah... I'd definitely not call IFS work be any stretch of the imagination. Fly a couple times a week, and chill the rest of the time. No musters or anything. Twas a great 40 days.

Navy05... did you do IFS at USNA or no? I know some IGEP guys did and some didn't.

When are you gettin down here?

I did do IFS at USNA. Dont know when I'm reporting to P-cola but I graduate June 16 so my guess is early July. Hopefully I can get a PCS move from Monterey too. IGEP's a good deal but a big part of me wishes I didn't take it so I can be that much closer to being a pilot. Thanks for all your guy's inputs.

Meh, you'll get to the pilot part soon enough. Enjoy a nice town before you spend the next few years of your life in the redneck riviera. Even thinking about Monterey makes me miss it...oh well...

A few years back we got PCS moves from Monterey to Pcola, but we were kind of forgotten. To get our orders to Pcola we had to write to the detailer like big boys.

Navy05, I just got out here to Pcola from Monterey in October. A few of us did the PCS, but you'll be told that you will have to move your stuff by yourself if you later get sent to Corpus. So, most of us put our stuff in Monterey storage and had our 600lb allowance shipped out. (You can take stuff by POV as well, but only 600lb total between the two will be reimbursed.) The items in storage will be shipped out when we get to Primary. Of course, keep in mind this may change by July. Lemme know if you have any other questions.
