Incomplete MS Degree Question

canav08

Final Select SNA OCS 08 July 12
Hi All,

Sorry to start up a completely new thread but I'm getting a little nervous about something.

I've got an FS letter w/ OCS class date of 08 July which I'm 100% committed to.

I've had a completed BS degree since May of 2009. I also have an MS degree hanging and my processor is getting anxious for the transcript showing "complete".

I only discussed termination of MS work with them in terms of

1) when I considered myself available for service
2) when I thought I might complete the degree

Some other circumstances have delayed me but nonetheless, I'm worried about the implications. My MS degree was never (to my knowledge) listed formally as anything more than "in progress" during the application process unless my recruiter stretched the truth which I doubt anyways but also doubt because he had official transcripts for both schools I attended (BS and partial MS) in hand.

Is this something that could get me in trouble for fraudulent enlistment at worst or bounce me out of OCS at best? Am I worrying too much?

Thanks!!!

Hi All...Am I worrying too much? Thanks!!!
Yes, I would say you're worrying too much. Someone else, like NavyOffRec may wade in with a better articulated response, but a Master's degree has never been a pre-req for OCS. If you need to put that on hold for a future, less fast-paced time in your career, so be it.

Best of luck in July-October!

Cheers....and welcome. :)

The processor is just trying to close out all the paperwork to make things easier down the line.

Get a letter from the college saying you have completed all the requirements and transcripts/degree should be awarded XXXX
